Well, I confess, I did not think it could be done!
But, before I get too carried away, let me start from the beginning.
We adopted Rolanda aka Rolo, a now 2-1/2 yr old medium-sized Greyhound-mix & for more than
a year, I tried to leash train her... to no avail. Rolo is an energetic girl, not wild & crazy by any
means, but loves to run. Oh, & did I mention, the only way she walked on a leash was PULLING!!!
I read books, searched on-line & took her to training classes, in order to try to teach her not to
pull. I tried every trick in the book @ least 1000s of times. But she won & I lost.
Finally, in great desperation, I phoned Alyssa @ Legends Dog Training.
I still did not think our pup would "get it," but...
We started simple w/ Rolo learning to focus on us & gradually added more stimulation in the
order of parks, trails, bunnies, etc. while teaching her to continue focusing on us & staying
near our side. We have learned so much about dog psychology, dog behavior, what dog's
are thinking, & of course, our relationship to her. I am so happy to announce that miracles
have occurred over the last several weeks & Rolo is a changed girl. She walks on a leash better
than I ever dreamed possible. And our relationship w/ her is improved in ways I never knew.
Alyssa's knowledge, skills & positive training style is so very effective & she creates a wonderful
learning environment. We learned as much as Rolo! Loved the sessions! Thank you, Alyssa! We have
a new understanding & love for our dear Rolo.
Thanks, & Lick-Lick,
Sally, Nick & Rolo
Chris with Pokey and Alan: August 2012 - San Diego, CA
I was very impressed with Alyssa from day one. When she entered my home my two dogs, Pokey and Alan, immediately became calm and attentive. Having the training at my home allowed her to evaluate each dog in a comfortable environment and focus on their individual needs. In just 5 hours of instruction, and of course practice in between, my dogs learned basic and important commands such as sit, down, off, stay and come. We had a training session at an outdoor restaurant to teach my dogs to sit quietly in a social setting. We also went to a park to practice coming even when distracted by others. My dogs now walk calmly on the leash with me which was a challenge walking two dogs together. Alyssa emphasizes positive reinforcement and teaches you how to get your dogs to be focused and ready to learn. I now possess practical knowledge and can be more effective when conducting additional training. It is much easier and fun for me to teach my dogs desirable behaviors. Now, my dogs are not only adorable, they are well behaved. Alyssa is a joy to work with and I recommend her highly. She truly is a “Dog Whisperer.”

Alyssa Lapinel has been such a help to me with my lab mix rescue puppy. He began to display some anxiety and fear aggression. She responded to my contact request within 24 hours and we set up an initial consult a couple of days later. Her help, guidance, gentle instruction, and genuine affection for my dog has helped me to work better with my puppy and her methods and calm demeanor has helped alleviate my anxiety as well as my dog's. I would recommend her highly to anyone who has questions or concerns about their dog's behavior.

Alyssa works very diligently with dogs, and uses her keen doggy sense to actually fix the underlining issues, not just mask it. She is really good about setting up training sessions around your schedule. Excellent advice is given by the bundle when I sat through my dog's session. She often uses a video camera, so you can recap what was enforced for training. My dog was very aggressive on his leash after we adopted him and with Alyssa's help he is able to recognize other dogs as training exercises and not a threat. And although my dog needs alittle more work on his leash behavior, I am gladly going to use Legends to fulfill that need. Thanks Alyssa!!

Alyssa is awesome! We have a 10 month old 70 pound blue nose pitbull who really needed a strong trainer. We were boarding him in a cage free facility once a week just for socialization. When we mentioned that we were interested in a trainer, one of the handlers recommended Alyssa at Legends.
Alyssa is incredibly personable and understanding. She listened to our concerns and really worked with us to reinforce what our dog was learning during training. We were even able to watch some of the training sessions on YouTube.
The bottom line is that you pay for results. We saw a noticeable difference in our dog's behavior after just one session. Strongly recommend!

Alyssa has been a pleasure to work with. I have two mini-poodles which I adopted from a rescue. Through positive reinforcement she has alleviated their anxiety and made them feel more secure when home alone. She has also trained them to follow commands and has done an excellent job.
I wanted my boys to be trained on a treadmill so that on rainy days they could still get the exercise needed. They have gone from being fearful of the treadmill to excitedly jumping on it!
Alyssa is a true dog lover and does her best to improve the dog-dog relationship and human-dog relationship. She works around your schedule, always answers questions and provides great insight into what works best. She is a breath of fresh air. I highly recommend Alyssa ... she is a true dog whisperer.

We really enjoyed working with Alyssa. She set a good foundation for working through our dogs' separation anxiety. She worked with both of them when we were at work and gave us strategies to work on at home by ourselves.
I was most impressed with her follow through and how much time she spent answering our questions even after our sessions were done. I'm pretty sure I asked a crazy amount of questions and she always gave me very thoughtful and helpful answers. She even lent us a pen to help with training our new rescue to go to the bathroom outside!
The cost of Alyssa's training sessions is well worth the investment in your dogs happiness and your sanity.
Angela with Chance: May 2011 - New York City
Alyssa has changed our life. She got both Chance and I on the right track within a few minutes of the first training session. If you are looking for an experienced trainer that will understand the overall picture for you and your canine friend Alyssa is it. Chance has learned, sit, stay, down, come, how to run on the treadmill and is currently working on rollover and shake. The amazing thing is that he is only 9 months old. We couldn't learned on all of these commands on our own, especially in such a short period of time. Alyssa is an excellent trainer.
Shannon with Freckles: December 2010 - New York City
I used Alyssa Lapinel as a dog trainer when i was pregnant to help prepare my dog for the baby. She did a great job and he has adjusted to his big brother role very easily and doesn't get jealous of her. The best advice she gave was to tug on our dog's ears and tail so he would be used to it when the baby gets mobile. Last week my baby bit my dog's tail and he just rolled over and smiled. I would definitely recommend Alyssa's training services. She also did a lot of agility work with my dog. He is very good at jumps and tunneling and it is a great way to give him a work out on a rainy day.
